Arrests and Seizures
Drug-Related Operations
Brig. Gen. Andre P. Dizon, Director of PRO-5, highlighted that the seized items included 78.44 grams of marijuana and 1,197.50 grams of suspected shabu. The 122 drug suspects, classified as street-level individuals, were arrested in 177 anti-drug operations. Following these operations, 209 cases have been filed in court, marking a significant step towards legal action against the offenders.
Firearms and Illegal Gambling
In addition to drug operations, PRO-5 conducted 182 operations targeting the proliferation of loose firearms. These efforts resulted in the arrest of 20 violators, the confiscation of 114 assorted firearms, and the filing of eight cases in court. Against illegal gambling, 37 operations were carried out, leading to the arrest of 95 individuals and the seizure of PHP141,535 in bet money. Twenty-five cases related to illegal gambling have been filed in court.
Efforts Against Other Illegal Activities
Illegal Fishing and Logging
PRO-5 has also been active in addressing illegal fishing and logging activities. Thirty-one operations against illegal fishing resulted in the arrest of 66 individuals and the seizure of PHP2.9 million worth of fishing paraphernalia. Similarly, 20 operations against illegal logging led to the apprehension of 25 individuals and the seizure of PHP333,931 worth of lumber and flitches.
Criminal Gangs and Insurgency
In the ongoing fight against criminal gangs, three individuals were taken into police custody, while two others surrendered. Furthermore, efforts to address insurgency issues resulted in the arrest of eight individuals, the voluntary surrender of ten, and the death of three insurgents. These operations also led to the recovery of 28 assorted firearms and various explosives.
